At Weston-super-Mare Christian Academy we believe the best teaching and learning only happens when the teachers know their children really well and the children really feel that they belong.
We also believe that the parents and carers are the first and foremost educator of their child, and as such it is vital that relationships between home and school be a positive and nurturing one. We will create these relationships built on mutual trust, respect and honesty. This will include access to data and learning records using a bespoke, online interactive tracking tool.
Weston-super-Mare Christian Academy will encourage children to aspire to join the working world by developing in children the attitude of perseverance to succeed and through supporting working parents. Pupils will also be encouraged to become responsible citizens.
Children will be encouraged to develop a 'can do' attitude by which they will be encouraged to take risks in their learning and 'have a go'. The curriculum will be life skills focused and opportunities for vocational style training for older pupils provided. A unique partnership with a local family will enable weekly opportunities for using an outdoor woodland learning environment. Opportunities for voluntary work in the local community will be arranged in addition to school based citizenship activities.
